It's no secret we need to fund our infrastructure to thrive in Minnesota. I want to ensure our eye is ahead every day on this. I propose that we build out our Metro program between the cities and provide a new service that connects the majority of our suburbs. In Minnesota, we often have park and ride stations that we can cut pollution with, but enacting better public transport will lead Minnesota into the future and help to cut on traffic delays..
In addition, We should be able to connect our industry with major cites across the Midwest. Including a hyper train. With such and idea, we could connect Des Moines, Sioux Falls, Fargo, Eau Claire, Madison, and Milwaukee to the heart of Minneapolis=Saint Paul and beyond. This project is something many will have to work together on in Congress to obtain federal funding for and it's one of the things I am most passionate about. We need our infrastructure to be ready to handle the growing future of manufacturing and public transportation is a great investment.
Lastly, Minnesota needs to establish itself on the cusp of new roadway technology to help prepare for the future. We can pioneer new technology and materials that help the American highway and interstate systems adapt. Everything from deicing technology, electric car charging stations and embedded on the road, to the use of solar energy/ friction to help power the grid. There are a multitude of things we can help create out of Minnesota by investing into the Transportation space.
